Inside Autumn Bistro & Bar, Veera Desai Area | All TheDeets
Standing true to its name, the very new Autumn Bistro & Bar located in Veera Desai Area is inspired by the season of change. The mood here is warm, bright and every corner of the space has an elucidation of the season! Be it the bold green walls adorned with rose gold embellishments, the velvety red, green and tan brown upholstery of the chairs or the slick black stone bar at the entrance, everything screams autumnal glamour.
Having heard that this new bistro is the creation of Sunny Singh and Sandeep Sharma, who already own 5 of the of the best restaurants in Jaipur, we decided to head there for their Rajasthani delicacies, only to be disappointed as their Indian cuisine is available post 8 PM.
The place had a great vibe with house music playing in the background so we decided to stay back and survey the extensive menu that takes you through a culinary journey with dishes from Italian, Asian, American, Mexican and Indian cuisines.
While we awaited our appetizers, we sipped on an off the menu cocktail which was specially curated by the bartender, The Green Lantern was a heady concoction of Bacardi rum infused with kiwi crush, mint and lime and you need to ask for this if you visit. We also then tried the Sex On The Beach cocktail which looked great but didn’t taste anything like the classic cocktail, and tasted more like a super sweet peach iced tea with a tiny amount of vodka.
The first starter that arrived were the Cheese Cigar Rolls. These were super cheesy, crunchy and perfectly seasoned and the dish was well plated. Served with three dips and a side of salad, this was probably the best dish we tasted.
While Pepperoni Pizza Fries sounds super exciting, the dish failed to shine. Fries topped with an average portion of cheese, olives and pepperoni and a bland pizza sauce, just did not add up.
Next up was the Prawn Cocktail, something we’re quite used to enjoying. Unfortunately, it wasn’t anything like we remembered. We were served a tiny portion of a piece of jumbo prawns doused in overly sweetened cocktail sauce and a salad dressing that failed to provide any respite. Skip this for sure.
They have an All Day Breakfast from 8 AM onwards and this section on the menu features cereal bowls, fruit bowls, waffles, pancakes and ofcourse eggs! We tried the Eggs Benedict that was egg-straordinary. Oozing, rich eggs were served with a side of dehydrated tomatoes, and a generous helping of Hollandaise sauce and was just what we needed after the fairly average round of starters.
You can try the Tandoori Chicken Salad on days you feel like indulging in a ‘cheat salad’. Well spiced, flavoursome salad dressing with juicy chunks of chicken made for a good order.
A great accompaniment for when you step here for just a drink and a bar bite is their Veg Galouti Slider. The sliders comprised of a melt-in-the-mouth kebab cutlet which was soft, aromatic and mighty tasty.
By now, we had already eaten quite a bit and decided to wrap up the meal with the Baked Cheesecake. Being someone who adores cheesecakes and has even written a dishticle on the same, I cannot possibly fathom how one can mess this dish up. I really can’t put a finger on what was wrong but the dish sadly, was just off.
My experience here was just par average and I would suggest that with a few hits and quite a few misses, you can visit the Autumn Bistro & Bar if you don’t mind shelving out money for an average meal in an exquisite setting.
