Celebrate Oktoberfest 2017

By Mallika Dabke October 6, 2017

Oktoberfest, is an annual German folk festival celebrating the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese. Or, for us here, very far away from Munich, an excuse to drink copious amounts of beer, guilt free.

Contrary to popular belief, Oktoberfest doesn’t really start in October. It starts mid-September and goes on till October. But fret not, you haven’t missed out yet! Here is a guide to Mumbai’s Oktoberfest celebrations so that we all can all be a part of this German extravaganza (except Paris Hilton who was banned from Oktoberfest for life back in 2006):

D:OH:, Andheri

The great people at D:OH have two great October deals going on, and thankfully they haven’t left out the wine aficionados. From their range of freshly brewed goodness, every third drink you get is on the house. Apart from that, they have an ‘every hour is happy hour’ celebration going, so you can have limitless glasses of beer or sangria at Rs.699!

Kaitlyn’s Beer Garden, Bandra

Along with a special collection of German Beers and food menu, you can get Belgian WitBier and Kingfisher for INR 150/-.

Other than their buy one get one offer, Myxx has curated a special menu dedicated to Oktoberfest. A special something that caught our eye is their Beer Infused Swiss Cheese Fondue with baby ladi pavs. They also have a tofu teriyaki hot dog, and a range of beer cocktails.

Mocambo Cafe, Fort

Every day is happy hours at Mocambo Cafe, with buy 2 get 1 free offers on  Kingfishers, Heinekiens, Fosters, and Draft Beers.

Gateway Taproom, BKC

Be prepared to literally enter Munich if you drop by at Gateway Taproom. To celebrate this beer fest, they are bringing back the Oktoberfest special beers they brewed last year called Oktober Lager, Side Car, and As Vienna As It Gets. They also have a great food menu which is all about assorted meats and sausages. If you need yet another reason to visit, enroll yourself to battle it out at their Chugging Chair event.

The Good Wife, BKC

You can get 500 ml of beer for the price of 330 ml, or 1500 ml for the price of 1000 ml. If you get two pitchers of beer, get a pizza on the house. The beers they are celebrating with are Erdinger and Kingfisher.

British Brewing Company, Lower Parel

‘Beat the Octobeer heat’ at BBC with an exciting collection of beer cocktails. From Beer Sangria, Beer Mojito, Shandy, and more pocket saving deals on Craft Beers, Kingfishers, and Hoegaardens.

In Indigo Deli we trust. We trust their sausages that are rolling towards us. They have Pork Curlies, Chicken Bockwurst, Chicken and Pork Bratwurst, and a couple of more wursts we are sure will go great with their beer, bacon, and apple pudding. We could keep naming things off their Oktoberfest menu, but it’s not going to help our salivating mouths.

True Tramm Trunk, Juhu and BKC

Forget beer jugs, have you tried beer cocktails yet?

Buy 1 beer and Get 1 free at Tramm Trunk and celebrate Oktoberfest with beer cocktails and German Sliders like beer battered chicken, and tofu buns.

Let’s empty those barrels and get our German on. Let the festivities begin!

P.S.  Keep an eye on this list for updates through the week!
