Armani Hotel Dubai
For: The designer and luxury-obsessed
Its setting within the Burj-Al-Khalifa says a thing or two about the level of opulence you can expect here. Those obsessed with designer labels are going to be head-over-heels in love with the hotspot right from the lobby with its displays of Armani watches and perfumes to its haute couture inspired furnishings. We recommend the Armani Dubai suite, designed by Mr. Giorgio Armani, the man himself! This is what designer dreams are made of.
What we loved
The view (of course) and the Armani pool (Instagram-worthy). And after our meal experience at Amal, the specialty Indian restaurant housed by the hotel, we felt like we were living our best life. We got the best of both worlds as we gorged on traditional Indian flavours while taking in the breath-taking views of the Dubai Fountain. We were transported to a time of Mughals and maharajas as we relished delicacies like the Zatooni Jhinga, Nawabi Chicken Tikka, Murgh Makhni and Dal Makhni. While we were literally over-the-top, the Chocolate Cardomom Daquoise further elevated our foodie experience.

Desert Palm Dubai
For: Polo lovers and luxury amidst nature
Located on a 160-acre estate, a 30-minute drive from Dubai, this property boasts palm-fringed polo fields, sassy suites and a whole sanctuary for horse-lovers and polo-players. The Desert Palm suite is cushioned with huge windows overlooking the polo field, a marshmallow-soft bed that promises you your best sleep ever, cool marble floors and one of the most gorgeous bathrooms ever.
What we loved
We are still dreaming about our delicious breakfasts by the azure pool which featured cuisines from around the world in a plush, opulent setting. Between massages at the tranquil Lime Spa and perfectly cooked steaks at the main restaurant, we were in epicurean heaven.

For: Understated luxury and business travellers
With sumptuous rooms and suites which are larger than most others in the city, polished butler service and a tastefully designed pool, this hotspot is a convenient 15-minute drive from the airport. The Raffles Club Room was like love at first sight with unbeatable views of the city, mashrabiya décor on the bathroom doors, traditional motifs on the carpets and Egyptian aesthetics that will win over you design junkies.
What we loved
Our favourite part had to be the Floral Afternoon Tea which was hands down, our best afternoon tea experience in the city. Joining forces with Forever Rose, exclusive floristry and rose retailer in the UAE, the hotel serves deliciousness on Victorian styled gold stands incorporating the essence of flowers with savoury treats like cured salmon with hibiscus extract, fresh mango, and rose shaped brie mousse, with an edible flower, pine nuts, and fig compote on pumpernickel bread.
