A Ticket To Goa At House of Lloyd | MF Hacks
Have you been trying to make it Goa for months but somehow your plans don’t end up working out? Well, I was facing the same case of those blues but ended up getting a taste of my favourite holiday destination much closer than I had planned to, in Juhu! Located on Juhu Tara road, House of Lloyd, one of our favourite Goan haunts has set up shop and is bringing us a taste of the tropics.
Sitting atop Grandmama’s Cafe, and right alongside the beach, this Goan restaurant is the answer to all your failed Goa plans. It doesn’t get better than this! After the success of House of Lloyds in Condolim, Goa, owner Lloyd Braganza decided to bring a taste of Goa to Mumbai.
Every element of House of Lloyd mirrors a local’s life in Goa. You enter the restaurant and are greeted by a large outdoor bar surrounded with tables before you can make your way in the air-conditioned section. Pastel yellow walls have been adorned with Mario Miranda style illustrations, and a number of Lloyd’s own family photos are hung on pillars. The space is reminiscent of a typical Goan food restaurant, so much so, that you could forget you’re in Juhu for a moment.
Our buddies over at Dineout are always organising super exciting deals and discounts across the best restaurants in the city, and this time around, they’re offering a Ticket to Goa at House of Lloyds. Which means, the chance to explore some authentic Goan food with a 30% discount on your food bill, and a buy one get free offer on the drinks. This offer is a great way to experience this new, buzzing restaurant with great savings.
The food at House of Lloyd is an absolute treat. When we visited, we weren’t expecting the kind of authenticity we were about to experience. The menu lists items that are always on the top of our minds when we visit Goa. With the spotlight on Goan food, you can expect to devour some specialities like their famous Pork Chops, Tiger Prawns in a Rachedo Sauce, Grilled Kingfish, and more! There’s plenty of opportunity for vegetarians to indulge too, check out their yummy Ratatouille with Summer Vegetables and Baked Feta with Oregano and Olive Oil. You also shouldn’t miss their classic fish curry with rice experience, or a simple poi paired with any of their mouth-watering curries.
Even the drinks at House of Lloyd have a Goan touch to them. Try the Aamsul Twist Socktail, or the Jalapeno Dark Chocolate Cocktail, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed!
Dineout’s discount is being offered only from the 7th to the 17th of June, so this seems like your only shot to making those Goa holiday dreams come true for less than a price than even half a plane ticket. If nothing else, go for the sheer love of food, for there’s no better way to get to know a cuisine than eating at the restaurant of someone who has grown up on it.
