Chocolate is magical. There is no denying the universal appeal of one of the most ubiquitously consumed foods. But Chocolatier Zeba Kohli multiplied the abundant allure of chocolate and took it a whole new level with her chocolate art installations at the Häfele Design Studio in Mahalaxmi.

Upon entry at the design studio that is sprawled across 10,000 sq feet, we were greeted by the luxurious home fittings and furniture that are synonymous with Häfele. While walking around the studio we found chocolate surprises in every nook and corner in the form of crockery made entirely with chocolate, bouquets and bottles made a table of shoes and even outfits covered in chocolate.

The art installations made entirely of chocolate were breathtakingly juxtaposed against the awe inspiring Hafele fittings and settings, to present an amalgamation of innovation, design and functionality through interactive displays and tastings.

Zeba Kohli created an entire Chocolate Trail in the Hafele Kitchen, that featured chocolates from all the cocoa-growing regions of the world, from Venezuela to Ghana. Even the platters and serving-ware were made of chocolate.

“It’s been exciting to create installations out of pure chocolate! This evening is truly a coming together of indulgence, luxury and design……a winning combination that those with a taste for the finer things in life will appreciate”, said Zeba Kohli.

The flavour of the concoction that Zeba Kohli created live by flambéing some berries with butter and combining it with rich, anti-oxidant filled dark chocolate will be etched in our flavour palates for a long time.

Zeba Kohli is an Indian chocolatier, philanthropist and entrepreneur. Fantasie Fine Chocolates, the 65-year-old Indian designer chocolate brand that Kohli heads, has captured many hearts. Fantasie Chocolates are sold through six retails stores across Mumbai & Pune and online. Being a third generation chocolatier, she has revamped the brand by creating not only a huge spectrum of flavours but also chocolate body paints to mobile phones, and has made a movie on chocolates and Gandhi, chocolate fashion accessories.

Häfele believes that design concepts and ideas can be better understood when they are experienced in live set-ups. Their motto is “More life per square metre”. And after seeing the delectable chocolate-art and state-of-the-art showroom, we say, why not make it “More chocolate per square metre”.
