It’s that special time of the year when beer lovers can rejoice! Why? Well, it’s Oktoberfest time. For those of you, who aren’t well-versed with what this festival is, read on.
This two-week long festival, is an annual German folk festival celebrating the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese. We never miss out on a chance of celebrating international festivals especially one which lets you drink this much beer.
The folks at your favourite neighbourhood pub, The Irish House are giving you a chance to eat, drink, and be merry the way the German way. Right from the beer and food to the decor, they have carefully planned this festival out.
We got news that their decor is designed in a traditional Oktoberfest style and will give you a feel of being in one of those huge Oktoberfest beer tents in Germany! In terms of the beers, we love the variety that The Irish House has and they are giving you a chance to try out both global and domestic beers at a steal. You can make your own domestic bucket at just INR 695 ++ – pick any 4 pints from Kingfisher Premium, Kingfisher Ultra, Budweiser, Becks, Heineken, Bira 91 Blonde and Bira 91 White. Or, you can choose to make your own imported bucket at just INR 1795 ++ – pick any 4 pints from Corona Extra, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Sol, Desperados, Affligem, and Edelweiss. If you like your beer fresh from the tap, you can choose from domestic draught or craft beers from Kingfisher, Bira91 to White Owl at just INR 225++ and imported draughts like Hoegaarden, Stella Artois, Erdinger, Heineken, and Edelweiss at just INR 445++ all in their exclusive 500ml yard glasses!
Team your beers with German inspired dishes like Twisted Pretzels, Spiced Currywurst, Bratwurst with Baked Yorkshire Pudding and more. For those of you who have a hearty appetite, call for the Chicken Schnitzel Burger. A spiced crumb-fried chicken patty topped with pickled cabbage, gherkins, and lathered with herbed yoghurt ranch. Pasta lovers! You can try out the classic German-style soft green pea spätzle pasta. Tossed in aglio e olio sauce, served with cheese and crouton sticks, this is absolutely delish!
Wrap up your German celebrations with the Apple Strudel, a flaky, buttery puff pastry stuffed with a spiced apple filling, studded with raisins and finely chopped almonds, served with vanilla ice cream, which is sure to blow your mind.
