Woodside Inn’s 10th Annual Beer and Burger Festival Is Here

By Mumbai Foodie July 19, 2017
It's raining burgers and a very, very special beer.

We couldn’t be happier that the city’s first, original Beer and Burger Festival has completed 10 years. Since it was kicked off in 2008 at Woodside Inn’s Colaba branch, the city’s food scene has come a long, long way. Firstly, craft beer has become widely available.

Secondly, you may have noticed a ton of other restaurants try the same recipe – a Burger festival with beer that’s slightly cheaper.

How, then, do the original team behind this idea for the city stay ahead of the game?

Well, they innovate. This year they’re offering a brew called Dr. Jykell, brewed in collaboration with Gateway Brewing Co to serve during the festival.

Dr. Jekyll will be available exclusively at Woodside Inn outlets for the Beer And Burger Festival.

The versatile beer will pair well with a range of burgers from the festival, of which we have our eye on Shroom Feast (parmesan crusted portobello mushroom, monterey jack cheese, truffle essence, and caramelized onion), served on a beetroot bun with Kale & Pomegranate dips and Sweet Potato Chips from the vegetarian selection.

Understandably, the selection is wider for burgers with meat and seafood.

From that selection, we’d order La Dolce Duck (confit duck leg, hoisin sauce, beetroot cured egg, and crispy chicken skin) served on a charcoal bun with red cabbage slaw and prawn crackers, Le Boeuf Decadence (Super Sunday Roast, beer battered onion ring, and melted scamorza) on a multigrain bun with British cole slaw, parmesan rosemary fries, and homemade mustard that’s one of the best in the city, or Gluttonous Pig (ground pork, emmenthal, apple compote, and garlic aioli) with a multigrain bun, cajun fries, and kale and pineapple slaw!

Keep looking at these wholesome, indulgent, and generous burgers for a bit:

Named Black Fowl, this burger features Teriyaki chicken, glazed bok choy, and cherry tomatoes and a Wasabi Mayo.
