Mumbai has upped its coffee game by several notches over the last year or so. With international style baristas dropping in and the city’s first bean roasters at Mahalaxmi, the day has never looked brighter for everyone who likes quality coffee.
Here’s where we’d sleepily go for a drink of brown gold!

Blue Tokai Coffee RoastersVersova, Bandra, Mahalaxmi

Coffee enthusiasts will definitely appreciate the freshly-brewed and roasted coffee here. This cheerful cafe has an enviable variety of blends, which they also roast and brew for distinct flavours. Coffee sold 0ere has a wide range in terms of beans, as well as unique concoctions like Coffee Tonic. Do try their Cappuccino with a delicious Cruffin, which is a mixture of a Croissant and a Muffin, filled with a creamy Custard centre. Tempted already, aren’t you?
Quick tip: Food here comes from Magazine Street Bread Co and Cafe Zoe, both outlets with exemplary food.

Koinonia Coffee Roasters, Khar

If you’re looking for the right place to find some inspiration, look no more! Koinonia coffee is a tiny coffee hub, with a concise menu that includes blends that are brewed to perfection. For all you body builders and health freaks, they have a keto option as well. They have beans from their own farms, and a selection of international beans as well- all of which make for a great cup of coffee! Need a Monday morning fix? Try their Mocha Cortado with a butter croissant. You will not be disappointed!

Quick tip: They have different methods of brewing (clever dripper and aeropress) which remove the acidity of coffee, as well as various milk options available for lactose intolerant people. Nothing can stop you from a good cup of coffee anymore!

When we started KCROASTERS, we never imagined we would stay open til 10pm… . . . In fact our first trading hours were 9am to 7pm. We couldn't imagine having coffee any later! What we have seen is though is an amazing community build. KCROASTERS has become a hub for friends to hang out after work, to share a croissant and pour over, or to have an affogato and a mocha. . . We love that coffee brings people together, at all hours of the day. And so we're stoked to serve you in wee hours of the morning and stay up late for all the frolic that happens at night! 👊🏽 #coffeeallthetime #coffeewithstyle #coffeewithfriends #coffeelove #latenightcoffee #latenightconversations #craftcoffeeculture #butfirstcoffee #bandra #bandralife #coffeelife #66chuim #coffeeandcroissants #specialtycoffee #madeinindia #roastedinbandra #roastedinhouse #coffee

Café Zoe, Lower Parel

Iced Coffee here is a great way to introduce the regular, reluctant folk into the coffee tribe. The Espresso is among the smoothest, cleanest flavours we’ve had, and it goes very well with a Chocolate Croissant in the morning. Follow it up with a breakfast, and this may well be one of the best ways to begin a day you’ve had in a while.
Quick tip: Trust us and wake up on Sunday to visit Zoe to breakfast in silence and sunlight.

The Pantry, Fort

On certain days, the aroma of coffee will welcomes you into The Pantry. A rustic, chic setting houses probably one of Mumbai’s first Cold Brew Coffees alongside a well-rounded Latte. Their Espresso is sharper than neighbour Kala Ghoda Café, but we prefer it on days when we want our coffee to kick us into adult mode.
Quick tip: If you’re looking to try something sweeter, the Salted Caramel Shake is ideal.

Coffee by Di Bella, 17 outlets

Although chains usually get a bad rap, this one has our vote. Coffee by Di Bella is known for premium indulgent, loaded waffles, and Freakshakes straight out of a sugar-rush wonderland. However, they make milky coffees with great consistency. Try the Flat White the next time you’re visiting. We’ll also give them bonus points since some outlets are open from 8 AM to 1 AM.
Quick tip: They have all new Coffee By Di Bella Exclusive outlets at Linking Road and Malad.

Bombay Coffee House, Bandra

If you love Vietnamese coffee, here’s where you should get your fix when in Bandra. Also, their menu is made in breakfast heaven, with options for all types of an appetite.

Quick Tip: The BCH Fried Chicken Burger is pretty bomb too.

Roasted Today, Versova

Like the name suggests, this quaint little coffee shop in Versova roasts its own fresh coffee every day, right in front of you! If you’re a caffeine addict, Roasted Today should definitely be your go-to place. The menu has some great Indian and international single origins, as well as an exotic coffee section. You can experiment with different types of espressos and pour overs from their menu, or even better- ask their coffee experts to whip up something special just for you! The coffee is so great here, that it is impossible to leave without taking a pack of the freshly roasted beans home.

Quick tip: Do not miss out on the Monsooned Malabar and the Kalledevapura Indian estate blends!

If you are a coffee addict, and someone who is looking for the perfect cup of goodness in the city, stop procrastinating because it’s time to start pro-caffeinating. I promise you will not be disappointed!
