We absolutely love it when something is created especially for us, more so when it’s food. If you follow Chef’s Table on Netflix, the effort and technique that goes behind a meal by a culinary master makes being part of a Chef’s Table very, very special.

As part of Dineout’s Dine n Dash festival that is spread across Lower Parel, Chef’s Tables will be hosted at 2 very unique Asian restaurants – Shizusan Shophouse & Bar (7th June) and By The Mekong – The St. Regis Mumbai (8th June) . Inventive food will be paired with wines by Fratelli Vineyards, and the 7-course meal at both the restaurants is priced at 2500 AI.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

Shizusan Shophouse & Bar

An assortment of dim sums at Shizusan.

Newly-opened and still buzzing at High Street Phoenix, this multi-storey restaurant has the theme of a shophouse – the restaurant is downstairs & the upstairs looks like a residence (but is actually the bar). Chef Paul Kinny will begin the meal with an asparagus & red wine amuse bouche, which will be paired with Fratelli Gran Cuvee Brut Zero Dosage.

For the first course, they will serve their signature Taipei’s Aromatic Miso Milk, a Taiwanese miso broth with udon, wakame, and tofu/chicken. There are four Dim Sum options for the second course – Edamame & Truffle oil, Vegetables, Chicken Gyoza, and Prawn & Chives. This course is paired with Fratelli Chenin Blanc. The third course involves Maki Rolls, with Thai-inspired Sriracha Blush (avocado + cucumber + jalapenos + cream cheese) and Spicy Crunchy Tuna as your options. Pair this with Fratelli’s Vitae Tre – Chenin/Gewürztraminer/Muller Thurgau.

Asian tapas for the fourth course gives you choices like Korean Fried Chicken Wings, Braised Pork Belly, and Penang Laksa Lotus Stem. For the mains, you can choose between Shiitake & Tofu in chilli-garlic-coriander sauce and Chicken Kaprow, a popular Thai street food dish. The mains will be served with Fratelli Cabernet Franc Shiraz. Staples include Black Bean Udon and Hibachi Sticky Fried Rice.

End this splendid meal with a dessert of your choice. Choose between the 5-spice Crème Brulee (cinnamon + star anise + fennel + peppercorn + cloves) or the Thai Tub Tim Grob (cold coconut milk + candied water chestnuts + orange bitters).
