Inside Coffee By Di Bella – Exclusive | All The Deets
I have probably been one of the most loyal consumers of Coffee By Di Bella since the opening of its first few stores in Mumbai. I remember sipping on my cappuccino in Versova and savouring the good quality beans, making me a loyalist almost immediately. Premium coffee that resulted in evenings of relaxation to help unwind made this café my go-to in almost every situation.
CBD Exclusive, located in Malad, is a refined extension of the coffee outlet. It has maintained the glossy interiors of the other outlets with a couple of café touches in certain corners. The book shelf alongside the wall with the hand painted walls gave me a cosy feel in a well done up atmosphere.
The menu was vast. With new beverages added to the already extensive coffee list, this gave me a lot of variety to choose from. I absolutely loved the Sea Salt Americano and the Rose Cappuccino. Roasted tones of coffee along with dehydrated rose petals gave this cup a unique, yet comforting aroma. The Exclusive outlet also has a selection of Premium Milkshakes to choose from. Since I had my fill of beverages, I chose to sit those out so that I had ample space for the food that was about to arrive.
My favourite thing about a café is an all-day breakfast menu and CBD Exclusive is no exception. From eggs done in any style you’d like (scrambled, omelette, poached) to French toasts and smoothie bowls, the menu gives you a large number of breakfast options to select from. I tried the Eggs Benedict and was delighted at breaking open a perfectly poached egg on a toasted English muffin. The Gooey Cheese Omelette was light and fluffy and as promised, was oozing with cheese. The Eggs Shakshuka seemed to be an interesting choice, but I was slightly disappointed as I found the tomato base to be too overpowering and would have preferred the flavour to be more balanced. The Seasonal Fruit Smoothie Bowl was wiped clean by me and I liked the generous portion of fresh fruit.
I also tried the Croque Madam which was a ham sandwich with a béchamel sauce topped with a fried egg. It was like eating an inside out sandwich; messy but delicious and creamy, nonetheless. The Everyday Is A Sunday Pizza was one of my favourites from the visit to the café. A great crust with simple toppings (artichokes, sundried tomatoes and olives) and the right amount of cheese made it a good pizza. The menu also consists of a whole list of pastas with an arabiatta, béchamel, pink or pesto sauce. You can pick your poison!
When you flip the pages, I realised that there was a lot more food that I could come back for. The Cheese Stuffed Fried Chicken Burger with the Crazy Cheese Bowl looked quite delectable and I was really interested in trying the Mushroom Cappuccino. There is an entire section dedicated to the famous waffles so one could pick any that they desired. From eggless and fruity to premium and gourmet, there is one for any mood.
Along with the café, Coffee By Di Bella has also launched a new blend called the ‘Sydney blend’ which has hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and hazelnut. This blend is being served through the Speciality Coffee Menu and includes additions such as cold brews, aero press, French press and pour overs.
Coffee By Di Bella Exclusive has succeeded in its efforts to elevate the simple cafe to a gourmet experience. While the menu is extensive, it did not dilute the quality of the product that this outlet represents. I heard that there a couple of more of these coming up and honestly, I am quite excited. What was my favourite coffee stop has now turned into a destination to even have a legit meal. And nothing sounds more ideal than that for a coffee and food lover like me!
