By Sanjana Subramanian November 26, 2018
Gimme Chocolate-the newest must watch chat show!

What if we told you about a show that revolves around chocolate, chocolate and nothing but pure chocolate? Sure, it would be an addition to your already long list of shows to catch up on, but it would also mean giving in to that urge, grabbing a bar of chocolate and having a great time as you watch, wouldn’t it? So if you’ve ever dreamed about a show that focuses on just chocolate, your prayers have been answered. Say hello to ‘Gimme Chocolate!’ This interactive celebrity chat show that airs on LF channel is hosted by chocolatier Zeba Kohli and is a concept where chocolate replaces coffee as the quintessential accompaniment to conversations.

‘Gimme Chocolate!’ delves deep into the universe of chocolate with renowned chocolatier Zeba Kohli and her friends who strike a chord with viewers whilst they unwrap stories as unique as chocolate itself. To make things more interesting, the show also has segments that include games, live cook-offs and a fun spin on the classic version of ‘Never Have I Ever’.

Not that chocolate needs a rebirth, but Zeba loves creating new chocolate recipes and offers a ‘sweet’ challenge to be recreated by her guests each time. While the celebrities measure out chocolate and get stirring, you can sit back and watch and even take down recipes while you’re at it! We couldn’t think of a more perfect combination of entertainment and the decadent world of chocolate. And that’s exactly why we chatted with Zeba Kohli.

Take us through your love for chocolate and tell us a little bit about what we can expect from ‘Gimme Chocolate’.

I have loved chocolate for as long as I can remember and it was that passion that led me to creating Fantasie Chocolates. Speaking about the show, ‘Gimme Chocolate!’ is exactly what one would expect from a chat show with this name. Lots of chocolate and conversations, tons of fun and wonderful chocolate inspired recipes. Add in a list of a your favourite celebrities to the mix and the show instantly becomes all the more interesting to watch.

Can you give us your perspective on this show? How do you and the team intend to make it different each time, seeing as it’s based purely on chocolate?

I love chocolate and thoroughly enjoy its versatile nature. It’s always delicious when consumed as a sweet impulse or even with a savoury touch in a marinade. Chocolate ice cream and chocolate drinks are also delicious. It is this versatility that I have captured through my show while also trying to bring out its health aspects. Given that our audience today is well travelled, they are open to learning and understanding the as yet untapped nuances of chocolate. Talking about chocolate through the eyes and palates of people from the industry that we all love also gives chocolate a different take and makes it more fun.

What’s your favourite part about hosting ‘Gimme Chocolate!’?

Every single moment of shooting ‘Gimme Chocolate!’ has been memorable, fun and an overall delicious experience. Season I has been great I can’t wait for Season II already. It’s difficult to talk about just one part of the season but the funniest episode has been the one with Cyrus Broacha and Kunal Vijayar. I had to do multiple takes since I couldn’t stop laughing.

Can you share some fun on or off-set snippets with us? A fun food-related incident perhaps that you shared with Diana, Sonakshi or the others.

Diana and Sonakshi are very close to my heart as I have literally watched them grow up. And now, watching them interact in the kitchen with me was tons of fun fun. What’s interesting is that Sonakshi had never cooked before and the chocolate face-off brought out a lovely side in them both. It’s my favourite part of that particular episode and one of the reasons why I love this show so much – it brings out your inner happy.

We hear there’s a lot of keto-friendly chocolate that’s whipped up on the set. How does keto chocolate fit into one’s diet plan?

Yes, the show does feature keto-friendly chocolate. Essentially, keto is a diet which is followed by a lot of people who want to lose weight fast. A wonderful 85% 15gm piece of dark chocolate, either plain or with nuts or mixed seeds completely fits within the keto diet and is something we have depicted on the show as well, especially since stars are watching their weight at all times.
Could you share an exclusive chocolate recipe with us off the show that our readers would love?

All recipes on the show are easy to make and delicious to eat. Here’s one of my favourites.
