Interiors At Loco Loca

Loco Loca is ready to ignite a love affair in Mumbai with fusion food, this restaurant is kind of a multi-cuisine one disguised as a Spanish restaurant. Located at The Empresa Hotel in Lokhandwala, this all new bistro has a casual vibe to it with an outdoor, open-air space with a lot of natural lighting and gets a vibrant feel with its blue and yellow seating.

‘Our vision is to create a space in Andheri where one can come for a date, a meeting or just to unwind and chill alone’, as quoted by Chef Ajay Chopra.

Now if you’ve eaten Spanish food, you know that it’s packed with flavour, character and is all about the tapas. So, this place might be interesting for the experimental side in you! Loco Loca offers popular Spanish dishes with an Indianized touch to them. Sometimes checking out how two different cuisines blend together is worth a try.

We were given a tasting menu and here’s the rundown on what we tried:

Feta & Co:

A kokam based salad dressing, power-packed with flavour and freshness of the fruits. This salad was really juicy, filling and refreshing.

Avocado On Toast:

Now we have a list of places we enjoy this dish at, and we probably might not add Loco Loca to that list.

Bombay Bravas:

A twist to the usual Patatas Bravas, this one had potatoes in a square shape, served in a fiery misal sauce.

Khopoli Croquettas

I love how they have made this fried roll with a vada pav stuffing! Spaniards should give this a try, maybe?

P.S.- Team it with their thick and cooling Kiwi & Apple Slushie, it makes for a perfect mid-evening snack!

Yakitori Chicken Togarashi:

The highlight of this dish was the chilli plum sauce that balanced the sweet taste of the tender chicken pieces aptly.

Chicken Thai Thigh:

Don’t be confused guys! They do have other cuisines too on their menu. Moving forward, having eaten this dish quite a bit, I can suffice that the chicken thigh wasn’t roasted enough, the Thai marinade needed that zesty touch to it and this dish just did not work for me.

Harissa Prawn Skewers:

Zero points to them as the prawn skewers were overly greasy skewer with an extremely bland tomato sauce.

Verdure Parmigiana:

Food presentation for this one was below average! Though the dish itself tasted great and was super cheesy.

Manakeesh Bi Lahm:

This was a delightful hit to our taste buds! This popular Arabic dish featured pita bread baked with cheese and layered with a bit of green chutney and pepped us a bit.

Whiskey & Smoke:

This dessert will totally blow your mind. In a shape of a chocolate cigar roll filled with chocolate mousse and having a smoky aftertaste, you need to try this unique dessert.

Orange Centre Dark Chocolate Dome:

I will be coming back for this one for sure. Temptingly plated, this dessert was near perfect as it had a rich taste of the dark chocolate mousse with an orange centre and was served with a side of whipped cream and ice cream. Perfect for a monsoon day with a cup of hot chocolate!

At the end of the meal, we were informed that they will soon be serving wine and beer which we think will complement their menu really well. They also have an in-house patisserie that will be open from 10 AM to 7 PM.

If you are a person who likes experimenting with fusion food, then give this place a try.Loco Loca offers a stupendous treat to the eyes with its lively interiors, and makes for a safe spot to hang out with a drink and your friends.
