Gourmet Pizzas at Pi Bar and Kitchen, Andheri | New Opening
Hailing from Pi Pizzeria in Bandra, Pi Bar and Kitchen is a an extension of the same, that comes with a larger menu, diverse and encompassing the beauty that is, Italian food. Located in Andheri, opposite Citi Mall, we found that Pi Bar and Kitchen acted as an ideal dinner spot. This spot is brings with it, all the pizza goodness from Pi Pizzeria, but with an added vast menu of Italian salads, appetizers, pastas and other mains.
For the appetizers, we begun with a portion of warm, soft dough balls that came with a side of in-house garlic butter. The portion was a large one, so make sure you’re not overdosing on other appetizers if you’re ordering this one! It can get quite heavy.
The dough balls were followed by Harissa Cottage Cheese, and a Gamberi All’Aglio, which was a plate full of plump prawns in butter garlic.
We already knew what pizzas we wanted to eat here. Pi Pizzeria already being a personal favorite, we started out pizza party by going straight for a classic pepperoni pizza, and a vegetarian one called Monalisa, with onion, tomato, spinach and olives as toppings. Coupled with a Pina Colada and Strawberry Mojito, we knew our afternoon treat was just beginning.
To be honest, we had started feeling the effects of OD-ing on all the butter content in everything we had eaten so far. Still, we moved to the mains with undeterred enthusiasm. We ate the Mushroom Risotto and a Beetroot Ravioli. Both of them were the representations of hugs in a bowl. Italian food comes with a familiar comfort, and coupled with a glass of wine, we reckon a dinner date here would be an uber cute affair.
Despite the gourmet pizza and wholesome pastas bowls, we were completely sold when the creme brulee arrived at the table. Even though an incredible Tiramisu was also on the table, we couldn’t help but focus all our attention and love to the creme brulee. We loved it a lot. It obviously had the perfect sugar crack, and the smoothest and creamiest of consistency and flavour. Our minds were literally blown, so much that we couldn’t resist calling for another one. Poor Tiramisu probably felt really left out.
For all the fans of the pizzas by Pi, their entry to Andheri means great things for all of us. We can’t put a number on how many pizza shops in Andheri are too many pizza shops. So, keep em coming?
