Our Food Picks At The Lil Flea’s 3rd Edition

By Partner March 30, 2017

The Lil Flea has been Mumbai’s go-to pop-up for the last three years. It’s the only festival of some scale where Artists, Designers, Chefs, and Workshops come together since its inception. 2017 marks its 3rd Anniversary, and also the first time they’re hosting the Flea over two weekends. With midnight movies, a book exchange, storytelling workshops, and Virtual Reality films, they have you covered.

Walk around the spanking new JIO Garden venue and grab a bite from our pick of the food stalls!

Taco Bao
Taco Bao combines street-style Oriental Bao and Mexican Taco to create a unique Taco Bao. They have a range of Tex Mex and Asian flavours. You can try the Crispy Chicken or Mushroom taco baos at the Lil Flea on both the weekends.

The Burgery
The Burgery will make its second appearance after their debut at the Itsy Bitsy Food Fest. Expect layers of juicy, crunchy meat and spices, and burgergasm with each bite! Choose from flavours like Beetroot Carrot, BBQ Chicken, Fish and Chips, Cheese Beef, and Dhabeli.

Coma Coma
Grab some Tacos and Empanadas at Coma Coma (coma, btw, means ‘eat’ in Spanish). They’re launching Mexican Street Tacos at the Lil Flea. These include Tinga, which tastes like shredded tender pork, but is soft cooked raw Jackfruit in Chipotle Chilli Sauce. The Carnita is the classic Mexican taco made of spicy, juicy Pulled Pork. They also have a Shroom taco, and a Con Carne taco which has minced chicken and in-house seasoning.

Brewlette
Try the Gourmet teas made of ingredients like exotic fruits, flowers, herbs, and spices at Brewlette. Indulge in flavours like Apple Cinnamon or Peachy Passion, depending on your mood.

S Tawakkal Sweets
Mohammed Ali Road’s cult-dessert place has made its way to The Lil Flea. Normally difficult to access, this will be their first appearance at the Flea. Famous for all flavours of Barfi, make sure you don’t miss out the Mango Barfi.

Fleur de Lys
With a delivery-kitchen based in Mahim, desserts at Fleur de Lys range from cookies, brownies, cupcakes, tarts, cheesecakes and teacakes. Try their Lemon Pound Teacake or Baked Vanilla Cheesecake.

Brown Salt
Brown Salt combines West Coast bakeries with the smoothness of Indian Desserts for a spread of fruity, chocolaty, nutty desserts. Their Cookies and Granola are exceptional, and absolutely worth a try.

Frugurpop
We never get enough of Frugurpops flavoured popsicles, and this is the perfect seasons to have a couple. Cut fruit mixed with Ice cream is the way to go!

Dibs on Dips
Buy some chips and pair them with freshly made, vegetarian dips from Dibs on Dips. They have over 10 flavours like Cheesy Onion, Tzatziki, Spicy Jalapeno, Hummus and Honey Mustard.
