10 Things To Watch On Netflix Right Now | MF Guide
Netflix is god send. The number of movies and series on Netflix is enough to keep you going for hours or days. But, that also makes it hard to keep up!
This list is your answer to: a) what you should be watching on Netflix right now and b) what you should be eating while watching these shows.
I love chick flicks. They are far away from reality and extremely entertaining. Currently, everyone is obsessing over To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. When it comes to the plot, the movie relies on the age-old formula of a love story between an innocent girl and a dreamy boy a.k.a. Peter Kavinsky! Look up the memes online and you’ll know why the world is going gaga over him. This movie is your ideal pick for a date night and of course, a girl’s night in. I would suggest you order a Meat Feast Pizza from Joey’s, pour yourself a glass of red wine and hit play.
Finally, we all can thank Netflix for creating a great Indian series. With names like Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the omnipresent Radhika Apte, I was excited about this series from the day it was announced. And, it turned out to be quite a gem. This is the kind of crime series that you will finish in a day! Nothing is more suitable than the Butter Chicken from Goila Butter Chicken for this level of binge-watching.
Hannah Gadsby Nanette
Australian comedian and writer, Hannah Gadsby, brings to you her stand-up comedy special, Nanette. It’s nothing like anything you’ve seen before. It’s a remarkable show that’ll not only make you laugh but also cry at times because of the hard-hitting reality that Hannah brings to light. So, call in for some comfort food i.e. a bucket of Madagascar Sticky Chocolate Ice cream from Ice Cream Works to deal with the aftermath of this brilliant show.
Ice Cream Works has several outlets across the city that are serviceable on Swiggy
Queer Eye is a show about five gay men on a mission to revamp a straight guy’s life. It sounds revolutionary from the get-go, doesn’t it? The show makes a statement when needed but it’s super fun and light-hearted. However, when it comes to eating, you would want to keep it healthy. All thanks to Antoni, who prepares delicious healthy appetizers on the show. My pick: Avocado Sandwich and Soba Grilled Prawns Salad from Kitchen Garden by Suzette.
Horror is my least favourite genre so when I heard about Ghoul, I knew it wouldn’t be my cup of tea. But, if you’re the opposite of me then I think you will definitely enjoy this show. It’s a three-part series that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Confused about what to eat while watching? My suggestion is to keep it simple and dig into a packet of Peri-Peri Fries from McDonalds and hit play.
TOM HARDY. Is that reason enough to make you watch Peaky Blinders? Well, he is only a guest star but you get the gist 😉 Based in England in the early 1900s, this award-winning series revolves around gangsters and all the chaos they wreak. Four seasons are already out so, get set to devote all your time to this intriguing series. It’s going to get intense so a Dark and White Fantasy Waff-Wich from The Belgian Waffle Co. should make the cut.
Of course, Netflix has a lot of new things for us to binge on but it also features classics like Mad Men. Relive the good old days of the 60s with this dynamic series that revolves around an ad agency and the men who make it happen. I would suggest stirring up an old fashioned at home and ordering in Pork Sliders from 145 Bandra to go with your cocktail.
We all love a well-written comedy show, don’t we? Brooklyn Nine-Nine is exactly that. It revolves around a police precinct that is handled by a diverse, carefree team. And, by diverse I mean – a gay African American police commander, a bisexual police officer, a detective with abandonment issues and a well-built male character that’s too emotional. This one deserves all the junk food you can handle so order the Bad-Ass Chicken Burger from Burgzooka and start watching.
Are you familiar with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict or are you a current events buff? If so then this Israeli thriller can’t be missed. The show follows the journey of an Israeli agent who is searching for a Palestinian fighter, I hear some people are calling it the next Homeland. Let’s just say, the hype is real. A combination of Cappuccino and Almond Croissant from Blue Tokai will go well with the vibe of this show.
Of course, series like Narcos, Breaking Bad and Stranger Things are all-time favourites. If you haven’t seen those, I suggest you add them to this list as well. Tell us what your favourite Netflix and food combinations are!
